Performed mechanical, electrical and fire protection design services for the renovation of the existing Norris Middle School
The 190,000 SF remodel included a complete replacement of the existing HVAC, electrical, lighting, and data systems, significant plumbing upgrades, and an all-new fire sprinkler system.
The project included the challenges of maintaining building occupancy (and air conditioning) throughout construction and required significant project phasing and design team coordination to accomplish that goal.
After life-cycle cost analyses were performed, an HVAC system utilizing variable-air-volume (VAV) air distribution and hot water reheat was designed. Thes system provided precise temperature and humidity control to each space, while also meeting the District’s guidelines.
