OPS Norris Middle School Renovation

Omaha, NE

  • Performed mechanical, electrical and fire protection design services for the renovation of the existing Norris Middle School.
  • The 190,000 SF remodel included a complete replacement of the existing HVAC, electrical, lighting, and data systems, significant plumbing upgrades, and an all-new fire sprinkler system.
  • The project included the challenges of maintaining building occupancy (and air conditioning) throughout construction and required significant project phasing and design team coordination to accomplish that goal.
  • After life-cycle cost analyses were performed, an HVAC system utilizing variable-air-volume (VAV) air distribution and hot water reheat was designed. Thes system provided precise temperature and humidity control to each space, while also meeting the District’s guidelines.
