Brand new 25-bed critical access medical center for a rural community in Northwest Kansas.
The medical center includes an emergency department, inpatient beds, surgery department with orthopedic surgery focus, five ORs and two procedure rooms, a clinic for 30 physicians, dietary, lab, radiology, PT with hydrotherapy, and wound care.
The facility uses rooftop units for heating and cooling, with redundant systems and service vestibules for critical components, reducing downtime and promoting maintenance.
High efficiency boilers provide heating hot water in addition to serving heat exchangers that generate domestic hot water for the entire facility.
The electrical design features efficient LED lighting throughout, and the power was backed up with a full generator system that serves nearly the entire facility.
An integrated building automation system combines the use of the HVAC controls, lighting controls, patient room shade controls, and patient room “infotainment” systems.
Master planning, programming, and design services were provided for the new 180,000 sf two-story facility.
