Michael Wallace Completes ACEC Emerging Leaders Program

Michael Wallace, PE, Electrical Department Team Leader, recently completed the ACEC Emerging Leaders Program. The class is limited to 20 people and contains 7 sessions on topics such as Governmental Affairs, Leadership, Risk Management, and Business Development.

Greg Kronaizl Provides Innovative Design Solutions for SDSU Campus – Receives ACEC Nebraska Honor Award

South Dakota State University needed to add a new Chiller Plant to accommodate growth of its campus. It was to be an unstaffed, efficient and low-operating-cost facility with capacity for expansion. Design engineer of record Greg Kronaizl, P.E., said the design initially specified steel pipes, but as plans developed for the plant, use of steel presentedchallenges.  Read about the project here

Don Foster, PE, LEED AP BD+C, REP, Certified Renewable Energy Professional

Don Foster is now a certified Renewable Energy Professional (REP) with the American Association of Energy Engineers. This certification recognizes the expertise of professionals involved in the design of renewable energy technologies, including geothermal systems, PV solar systems, solar thermal systems, and gas fired electrical generating systems. Farris Engineering is ready to provide owners with system designs that will decrease their utility consumption and carbon emissions for years to come. Don is a mechanical engineer and the Omaha office manager with over 30 years of experience.

Ryan King Recently Quoted in Midlands Business Journal

Farris Engineering’s Ryan King was recently quoted in the July 8th issue of the Midlands Business Journal sharing his thoughts on working with different architects. “The best firms are the ones who are passionate and excited about what they do, and each project they work on, I love what we do, so it is an awful lot of fun when they do too. Farris Engineering Awarded the Front Range Engineering Design IDIQ Contract

Farris Engineering’s Colorado Springs office was awarded the Front Range Engineering Design IDIQ Open End Contract earlier this year.  The performance period includes this base year with 4 option years, and a yearly not to exceed design effort of $2 Million.  The military installations included in this contract are Peterson AFB, United States Air Force Academy, Schriever AFB, Buckley AFB, Fort Carson Army Base, FE Warren AFB, Cheyenne Mountain AFS as well as geographically separated units (GSUs) for Air Force Space Command.

Farris Engineering receives ACEC Award for the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House

The Carolyn Scott Rainbow House is an affordable place away from home for families whose sick child is receiving care at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center. Farris Engineering received a Merit Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for their work on the project.
